brain of a computer is the processor, also called the CPU (Central Processing Unit). The better performance of the CPU, of course, the sooner we can complete the tasks of the office, school, etc. But what factors actually affect the performance of these CPU ?
The 3 most important factor affecting the performance of the CPU are:
1. Instruction set. ie processor code that tells how to do their job.
2. Clock speed. clock speed expressed in megahertz (MHz) or gigahertz (GHz). clock speed is a measure of how many processor instructions can be executed in one second.
3. Bandwidth. Bandwidth determines how much information the processor can be processed in a single instruction. If clock speed is like as a car speeds, the bandwidth is the width of the highway. bandwidth is measured in bits. Most of the existing computer system is currently running on 32-bit processor, but almost all new computers are equipped with 64-bit processor.
